2025 NFL Draft first-round results, grades as Cam Ward goes No. 1, Jaguars trade up for Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders goes unselected

The first round of the NFL Draft is complete, and there were plenty of surprises to kick things off.

After Miami QB Cam Ward went No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans, the Jacksonville Jaguars made the first big move of the night, trading up to the second pick to select Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, with the Cleveland Browns sliding down to No. 5 to take Michigan DT Mason Graham.

While there were a few more surprising picks along the way, the headliner was Shedeur Sanders’ wait, which peaked when the Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t select him at No. 21, and when the New York Giants selected QB Jaxson Dart after trading back into the first round at No. 25. Sanders ultimately went undrafted in the first round, and will wait to see if he’s selected on Day 2.

Sanders is one of the best available players remaining going into Friday, but before we get there, take a deeper dive into the first-round picks with Charles McDonald’s draft grades.
