3 deaths, 29 injuries reported due to Friday night severe storms in Northeast Arkansas (PHOTO: KATV)

INDEPENDENCE COUNTY, Ark. (KATV) — 3 deaths were reported in Independence County and 29 injuries were reported across eight counties after a round of severe storms battered Northeast Arkansas Friday night, according to the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM).

ADEM says these numbers are preliminary and are subject to change.

Sixteen counties across the state have reported damage to ADEM. These include:

  • Baxter
  • Clark
  • Fulton
  • Greene
  • Hempstead
  • Hot Spring
  • Independence
  • Izard
  • Jackson
  • Lawrence
  • Nevada
  • Phillips
  • Randolph
  • Sharp
  • Stone
  • Woodruff

Counties are still busy surveying the full extent of the damage. Early reports show that homes, businesses, power lines and trees were impacted throughout the region.
