AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Weather is the story on Monday at the 89th Masters Tournament. Play was suspended at 11:25 a.m. due to inclement weather in the Augusta area.
With rain and possible storms in the forecast for much of the day, Augusta National Golf Club had already delayed opening patron gates for Monday’s scheduled practice round until 8 a.m.
While the weather story plays out outside, Monday is a busy day inside the Press Building where several news conferences are scheduled. At 2 p.m. Eastern Fred Ridley, Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament will speak in the Interview Room. Later in the afternoon, news conferences are scheduled with Xander Schauffele, Justin Hastings, Hiroshi Tai and Bernhard Langer, a two-time champion playing his final Masters Tournament this year.
This story will be updated throughout the day.
