Milan’s 3-0 (4-1 aggregate) victory in the Coppa Italia semi-final means that Inter are no longer able to win the treble in 2024-25, which leaves PSG and Barcelona as the only remaining candidates for the prized feat.

Inter out of the treble race for 2024-25

A 3-0 victory for Milan on Wednesday night, courtesy of goals from Luka Jovic and Tijjani Reijnders, knocked Inter out of the cup, which also ended their hopes of winning the treble this season.

This means that Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are now the only teams in Europe who can still win the treble in 2024-25.

Inter still sit atop the Serie A table and are in the Champions League semi-final, where they will face Barcelona over two legs, beginning in a week’s time on Wednesday, April 30.

The Nerazzurri lead the league standings on goal difference, as they are currently level on points with Antonio Conte’s Napoli, in a title face-off that could go right down to the wire.

There will be no repeat of Jose Mourinho’s historic 2010 treble though.

Milan, meanwhile, have now picked up three wins and two draws from their five matches against the Nerazzurri this season, despite sitting in ninth place in Serie A – 20 points shy of their city rivals.
