Final Injury Report for Pistons-Pelicans, Will Zion Williamson Play?

The Detroit Pistons enter Monday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans looking to end their losing skid.

Detroit has lost two consecutive games and five of their last 10 contests. They took a tough loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday and suffered a disappointing loss to the Washington Wizards on Thursday.

They will now face off against a struggling Pelicans squad that has lost two consecutive contests and seven of their last 10 games.

Detroit will also enter Monday’s game as the much healthier team as the only player listed on their injury report is Jaden Ivey.

Of course, Ivey is still recovering from a broken leg but he could potentially return during the playoffs if the Pistons are able to make a deep run.

On the other side, the Pelicans have a multitude of players listed on their injury report for Monday’s matchup, including their star forward Zion Williamson.

Williamson is currently listed as questionable due to personal reasons and he is in danger of sitting out his second consecutive game as he missed Saturday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

If Williamson is sidelined, it would be a major blow for the Pelicans who already have a ton of players out due to injury against a great Pistons team.

New Orleans has already ruled out Brandon Boston Jr., Herbert Jones and Dejounte Murray for Monday’s game and they have also listed Yves Missi and Kelly Olynyk as questionable.

Missi has been one of the best rookies this season but he is dealing with an ankle injury that has caused him to be sidelined for the last two games.

Olynyk is dealing with a sprained finger and if he, Missi and Williamson are unable to play, expect Bruce Brown, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Karlo Matkovic to see increased minutes.

With the Pelicans’ roster decimated by injuries, the Pistons hope that they can pick up an easy victory to get back on track after losing two straight.

Fans can catch Monday’s game between the Pistons and Pelicans at 8:00 p.m. EST.
