Tracy Morgan health update after leaving Knicks game: What we know

Comedian Tracy Morgan appeared to experience a medical incident Monday night while attending the New York Knicks’ game against the Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden.

Morgan, 56, was seen vomiting courtside during the third quarter, leading to a brief delay in the game, before he was escorted out in a wheelchair, according to videos and photos posted online by those in the audience at the basketball game.

Newsweek has approached the star’s representatives for comment.

According to Page Six, one eyewitness claimed that Morgan was “bleeding from [his] nose” and “could barely stand up” before being assisted by medical personnel.

A representative for Madison Square Garden confirmed the incident in a statement, saying: “We hope Tracy feels better soon and look forward to seeing him back courtside,” as reported by Page Six.

Who Is Tracy Morgan?

Morgan is best known for his roles on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock, where he became a household name with his comedic performances. Born and raised in the Bronx, Morgan has frequently spoken about his love for New York, particularly his long-term passion for the Knicks.

Over the years, Morgan has faced significant health challenges. He was diagnosed with diabetes and underwent a kidney transplant in 2010.

In 2014, he survived a devastating car crash when a Walmart truck struck his limousine on the New Jersey Turnpike. The accident left him in a coma for eight days and he required months of rehabilitation before he was able to return to comedy.

Morgan has been candid about his health journey, recently discussing his use of Ozempic, a diabetes drug often used for weight loss. In 2024, he told E! News, “Ozempic did great by me, and I was glad to use it,” adding humorously: “Now I only eat half a bag of Doritos.”

Game Delayed by Medical Episode

Morgan’s health episode briefly disrupted the game, which was paused for about 10 minutes as staff attended to him. The comedian’s sudden illness stunned fans, with videos and images from the scene quickly circulating online.

Knicks player Josh Hart sent his well wishes after the team’s 116-95 win over the Heat, saying: “We hope everything is good with Tracy Morgan, avid lifetime Knicks fan, so prayers go out to him and his health and safety,” according to Page Six.

As of Tuesday morning, Morgan’s representatives had not provided an update on his condition. Fans across social media sent well wishes, with many recalling his past health struggles.

While there is no official confirmation on the cause of Morgan’s illness, his appearance at the Saturday Night Live 50th anniversary celebration last month suggested that he had been in good health.

The entertainment industry and his fans are awaiting further details on his condition.
