SHELBY, THANK YOU FOR THAT UPDATE THERE. WE WANT TO TAKE A LOOK AT SOME OF WHAT WE SAW EARLIER THIS MORNING OUT IN PAULS VALLEY. THIS WAS BETWEEN 615 AND 645 THIS MORNING. AND YOU CAN SEE JUST HOW HIGH THE WATER IS AS A CAR. A SCHOOL BUS. EVENTUALLY THEY MAKE THEIR WAY THROUGH THAT WATER THERE AND TAKE A LOOK AT THIS. THIS IS SOME FLOODING THAT WE SAW OVERNIGHT ON THE WEST SIDE, NORTHWEST SIDE OF THE METRO, INCLUDING 178 IN MERIDIAN WHERE WATER. IT WAS ALSO COVERING THE ROADWAYS AND BETWEEN ROCKWELL, US 178 AND 1/92. THERE, HIGH WATER MAKING IT NEARLY IMPASSABLE. WE ALSO SAW WATER RUSHING OUT OF A CREEK NEAR 178 I

The overnight and early morning storms on Wednesday brought flooding to several areas of Oklahoma, including in the OKC metro. KOCO 5 crews were at various scenes, showing flooding streets and rushing waters on roadways and creeks in Pauls Valley, the northwest side of the OKC metro and Norman. KOCO 5’s Shelby Montgomery reported in Norman that ponds in the area had overflowed, flooding some roads near the University of Oklahoma. That area usually floods and causes problems for drivers during heavy rainfall. The water was so high that some drivers decided to turn around and find another way around. While some of the flooding occurred early in the morning before many people hit the roads, they still caused issues for drivers and had to be shut down in some areas as the morning continued.
