Seahawks schedule for 2025 starts to leak

Editor’s note: The Seahawks’ full 2025 schedule is out now.

The full NFL schedule for the 2025 season will be released Wednesday at 5 p.m.

A few games have already been officially announced, and a few others have been leaked through various media reports, including some involving the Seahawks.

Seahawks start 2025 season at home vs. 49ers as schedule is released

Here is what we know:

One of the more interesting games on the Seahawks’ schedule is a game at Pittsburgh, which will mark a reunion with receiver DK Metcalf, who was traded to the Steelers in March.

It appears that will happen early as a report from 93.7 The Fan radio in Pittsburgh states that the Seahawks and Steelers will meet in Week 2 for Pittsburgh’s home opener on Sept. 14.

Another game that looms as one of the more intriguing for the Seahawks is a date in Washington against the Commanders, who were the surprise team of 2024 advancing to the NFC Conference title game led by former Seattle assistant Dan Quinn in his first year was head coach and former Seahawks middle linebacker Bobby Wagner in his first year there, as well.

According to a report from NBC4Sports in Washington D.C., that game has been set for Sunday night in Week 9, which would be Nov. 2.

It has also appeared to leak when Cooper Kupp will face his former team, the Los Angeles Rams.

CBSSports also noted that the Rams’ entire schedule has appeared to leak, showing the Seahawks playing in L.A. against the Rams in Week 11 (or Nov. 16) and hosting the Rams on a Thursday night in Week 16 (Dec. 18).

The second game appeared to be confirmed in a leak of every Thursday night game set for Amazon Prime.

What appears to be the Seahawks’ lone Monday night game of the season is reportedly set for Oct. 20 against the Houston Texans at Lumen Field. Sports Radio KJR 93.3 reported the news of the game against Houston.

They also appear set for two Thursday night games (at Arizona, vs. Los Angeles Rams) and one on Sunday night (Nov. 2 at Washington) for a total of four prime-time games.

According to The Athletic, the Seahawks will also play at Carolina on Dec. 28.

Also leaked is what appears to be the Seahawks’ home opener on Sept. 7 at Lumen Field against the San Francisco 49ers. That report came from Dave “Softy’’ Mahler of 93.3 KJR-FM.

It had been assumed the Seahawks would open at home since the Mariners are on the road that weekend at Atlanta.

It would mark the fourth consecutive year the Seahawks have opened at home.

The Seahawks will play one of their prime-time games on the road in Week 4 at Arizona against the Cardinals. That report first came from the website @PHNX_Sports.

That would put the date of the game as Sept. 25.

Each team’s three preseason games are also expected to be announced

From the moment Pete Carroll became the coach of the Raiders in January it was worth wondering if the Seahawks and Las Vegas might meet in the preseason. The teams often have, especially in years when they are not scheduled to play in the regular season.

During an appearance Wednesday morning on Seattle Sports 710, Carroll hinted strongly that the Seahawks and Raiders will play each other to open the preseason.

“What a coincidence huh?’’ Carroll said. “How about the opening game of the preseason? … Is that out yet?’’

Carroll did not hint where that game would be. The Seahawks will have two home preseason games and one on the road.

A road game at Vegas would undoubtedly be preferable to cut down on travel for a Seahawks team that is scheduled to fly 31,302 miles during the regular season, third-most of any NFL team behind two other West Coast teams — the LA Chargers at 37,086 and LA Rams at 34,832.

Carroll, though, appeared to shoot down the idea that the two teams might hold joint practices. Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald has said he would like to hold joint practices before both a home and road preseason game. But it’s unclear how that will work out depending on where the game against the Raiders is since it sounds like LV would not want to hold them.

It had appeared as if the Seahawks will not play on either Thanksgiving or Christmas as leaks for most of the games on each day had been revealed, appearing to rule out that the Seahawks would play any.

However, there was a retraction to a report of the supposed Thanksgiving night game with CBSSports.com noting that the supposed game is actually set for that Sunday. So, the Thanksgiving night game is still up for grabs. But with Seattle having two reported Thursday night games already, that may rule it out.

It was also officially confirmed on Tuesday that the Seahawks will not play any international games this season. But watch out for 2026. Given the number of international games — there are a record seven this season — They seem destined to play one again soon, having not done so since 2022.
