Riyan Parag is one of the rising stars in Indian cricket, and is now even the captain of Rajasthan Royals for the initial three games. His captaincy tenure has not started well, but is still a hero for the people of his state, Assam.
It showed in the game against KKR when a fan breached security in the 12th over of KKR’s innings. As Riyan Parag tried to bowl to Quinton de Kock, the fan ran all the way towards him, and touched his feet to admire the young cricketer of Assam.

The cricketer who was born in Guwahati in 2001 has grown in stature in recent times after his splendid performance in IPL 2024. He even played ODIs and T20Is for India, and is rated as one of the future stars of Indian cricket. He is the first player to play for India from Assam, and that probably has played a role in his huge fan following in the state, and resulted in a fan breaching security.
The fan also hugged Riyan Parag after touching his feet and had to be taken off the field with the help of security staffs. Recently, a fan breached security for Virat Kohli during the game against KKR at Eden Gardens, and it shows how much people of India love the game of cricket.
However, Riyan Parag would have wanted his team to get a win at his home ground, which could not happen as KKR hammered them by eight wickets. RR have now lost both their games of the season, and would have to get their act together, before it all gets too late.
