Julian McMahon’s Final Public 2-Word Message to His Daughter Before Death

Beloved actor Julian McMahon of Nip/Tuck and Fantastic Four fame passed away this week following private battle with cancer. He was just 56 years old.

“With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,” McMahon’s wife, Kelly McMahon, said in a statement to Deadline.

“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.”

McMahon is survived by his daughter, Madison, from his second marriage with Brooke Burns. He recently shared public support for his daughter, who goes by “Maddy” after she landed her first yoga teaching job.

“Taught my first yoga class today at @ahanayoga!! I guess dreams do come true ✨,” she touted in a post on social media.

“Your awesome!!!!!” he said in a two-word comment on the post. His only daughter responded, “no YOU’RE awesome,” both paying her father a compliment but also letting him know his grammar needed a slight adjustment.

The Australian got his start as a model before moving into the world of acting where he starred in an Australian daytime soap opera. He eventually moved to Hollywood where he worked a number of small roles before landing his first series lead as Dr. Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck.

“I’m stunned,” his on-screen partner Dylan Walsh said in a statement after McMahon’s passing. “We rode this wave together and I loved him. My heart goes out to Kelly and Maddy. Jules! I know you’d want me to say something to make you smile — all the inside jokes. All those years you had my back, and my god, we laughed. My heart is with you. Rest in peace.”
