After we knocked out Real Madrid to reach the Champions League semi-finals for the third time in our history, we will take on Paris Saint-Germain across two legs for a spot in the final.
We can confirm that the first leg will take place at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, April 29, with an 8pm kick-off (UK time).
The following week will see us head to the French capital for a game in the famed Parc des Princes, which will be on Wednesday, May 7, with a 9pm kick off local time (8pm UK).
Having met PSG in the league phase back in October, that 2-0 success thanks to goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka means we are unbeaten in all five of our previous meetings with the Parisians. Indeed, the French side have played more games against us without winning than against any other opponent in European competition.
Our first meeting came in the 1993/94 European Cup Winners Cup semi-final. A 1-1 draw in France was followed by a 1-0 home success with the late Kevin Campbell grabbing the crucial goal to book our spot in the final, when we beat Parma to lift the silverware. There were also a pair of draws in the 2016/17 Champions League group stage when Unai Emery was PSG boss.
Now under the management of Luis Enrique, PSG finished 15th in the league phase of this year’s competition, with four wins and a draw from their eight matches. They then smashed fellow countrymen Brest 10-0 on aggregate, including a 7-0 success in the home leg, to reach the last-16, where they overcame Liverpool on penalties after a pair of 1-0 away wins.
That set up another meeting with English opposition in the quarter-finals against Aston Villa, and a 3-1 success in Paris last week was enough to see them through, despite Villa coming back to win 3-2 at Villa Park, but losing on aggregate.
Ticket details for both the home and away legs will be announced in due course.
