2 of Pete Carroll’s former Pro Bowl receivers available for Raiders to add this offseason

If you’re Pete Carroll and the Raiders, there were two big pieces of news came out Wednesday regarding the wide receiver position. Within minutes of each other, there were reports that the Seahawks will be releasing former All Pro wide receiver Tyler Lockett and two-time Pro Bowl receiver DK Metcalf has requested a trade.

Lockett and Metcalf shared the field in Seattle under Pete Carroll for five seasons in Seattle, with the duo twice putting up 1000-yard seasons at the same time.

At 32 years of age, it’s been a couple years since Lockett was among the NFL’s best receivers. Which is why Lockett is about to be a free agent and the 27-year-old Metcalf would cost something in trade.

Metcalf would be just the type of the receiver the Raiders need right now and would give the Raiders next QB a big, strong target. It would also offer Carroll a familiar face in his offense.

Speaking of familiar faces and quarterbacks, Russell Wilson is also set to become a free agent. So, if Carroll really wanted to get the gang back together, the opportunity will be there.
