Nikola Jokic downplayed his limp after Sunday’s loss in Boston, but he popped up on the Nuggets’ injury report Tuesday.
The three-time Most Valuable Player is listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Kings at Ball Arena due to left ankle inflammation, the team said. Though Jokic appeared to be hindered early in Sunday’s game, he still played 39 minutes against the Celtics.
Aaron Gordon, who missed Sunday’s game with a left ankle sprain, is among the four other Nuggets listed as questionable to play against Sacramento. Zeke Nnaji played through an ankle sprain Sunday but is still listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game. The questionable tags next to Peyton Watson and Vlatko Cancar’s names are an upgrade. Cancar is recovering from left knee surgery and has been out since November. Watson, who sprained his knee on Jan. 31 and has been out since, on Monday posted an Instragram photo of himself with the text “Ocho back,” a reference to his jersey.
The Nuggets will be without Julian Strawther (left knee sprain), Trey Alexander (G League assignment), PJ Hall (G League assignment) and DaRon Holmes II (right Achilles tendon repair) on Wednesday.
