A new Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit crossover is here!
The two-hour television event sees Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) teaming up again with the 27th Precinct. They last joined forces in Season 24, Episode 2 (“The Perfect Man”), but their newest joint case is their most compelling yet. Why? Because it includes someone from Benson’s past.
Fans won’t want to miss out as Benson and Lt. Jessica Brady (Maura Tierney) team up to serve justice. Below, read what you need to know about the crossover episode’s timing:
The Law & Order and SVU crossover event kicks off Thursday, April 17 at 8/7c on NBC. Law & Order launches the two-hour crossover, then SVU, takes over at 9/8c for part two.
The excitement won’t end there, either. Following the crossover, Law & Order: Organized Crime will air its Season 5 premiere on NBC at 10/9c. Season 5 will now air on Peacock weekly, with two episodes dropping on April 17.
In the trailer for the latest Law & Order crossover, we see Benson devastated by a tragic murder, and it’s a victim close to home. Maria Recinos — the little girl Benson saved in the Emmy-winning episode “911” — was murdered under suspicious circumstances. Fans will remember that Maria grew up and became a police officer, so Benson is bound to be rocked by this personal case as she solves the mystery of Maria’s final moments.

“I love my job,” Hargitay told NBC Insider. “I love going to work every day. I love the community that I’m in. I love my cast, my crew, and I love the intimacy of it all and the fact that we work in a culture that says, ‘Let’s do the work, let’s have a fun time, and best idea wins.’ It is such a team. It is such an incredible team, and we rely so much on each other. We’re a unit. It’s so sacred to me.”
