RANSOM CANYON, Texas — Texas western shows are all the hot buzz in the TV show biz nowadays … hello, Taylor Sheridan’s extensive portfolio of shows running on Paramount.
Now, there is a new cowboy-inspired drama coming to town, streaming on Netflix.
“Ransom Canyon” debuted on April 17, which is a romantic Western set in a small Texas Hill Country town centered around the smoldering relationship between grieving rancher Staten Kirkland (Josh Duhamel) and musician and dance hall owner Quinn O’Grady (Minka Kelly), who happens to be his late wife’s best friend.
The show weaves in and out of a web of messy relationships and friendships, all amid a corporate threat that could destroy their land and legacy.
The town of Ransom Canyon, Texas, is a real place, but it is not representative of the show’s fictional town.
