Huge ‘WrestleMania 41’ Match in Jeopardy Amid Potential Injury on ‘WWE SmackDown’

A major “WWE SmackDown” star may have suffered an injury just one night before “WrestleMania 41.”

“Friday Night SmackDown” emanated from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The go-home edition of the blue brand featured many key segments and matches in the final push before “The Showcase of the Immortals.”

Unfortunately, one legend who is scheduled for a marquee match at “WrestleMania” Saturday might have been injured.

A six-man tag team match featuring Rey Mysterio, Rey Fenix, and Dragon Lee taking on American Made took place on “WWE SmackDown.” Mysterio did not factor into the finish, as it was the teamwork of Fenix and Lee that scored a victory.

After the match, WWE’s medical staff were checking on Mysterio. Fenix put his hands over his head, and the cameras quickly cut to commentators Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett.

While there is no official word on Mysterio’s status at this time, fans in attendance witnessed Mysterio receive help walking to the backstage area. Mysterio is scheduled for a huge singles match against El Grande Americano at “WrestleMania 41.”

For weeks, Chad Gable has insisted he isn’t donning the luchador gear, but Mysterio isn’t buying it. Many believed the match would eventually lead to both men putting their masks on the line at some point this summer, although that plan was never confirmed.

The question now is, will Rey Mysterio be able to enter the ring for a match on “The Grandest Stage of Them All?” If not, then the company can plug in either Fenix or Lee for the match with El Grande Americano, given that the rivalry still exists with Mysterio’s fellow LWO members.
