All NBA eyes were glued to the Oklahoma City Thunder‘s 127-103 win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. In the primetime ABC afternoon slot, undecided voters and fans wanted to see who’d win a head-to-head clash between Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic.
The first of a back-to-back went to Gilgeous-Alexander. He scored 40 points on 15-of-32 shooting. Meanwhile, Jokic only had 24 points on 10-of-23 shooting, 13 rebounds and nine assists.
A lot of hype was built up for this matchup. The MVP race is down to Gilgeous-Alexander and Jokic. The former had the leg-up against the latter in this contest.
