NFL free agency: Chicago Bears to sign DT Grady Jarrett

The Chicago Bears continue to bolster the defensive line with the addition of former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, who was just released by the Atlanta Falcons on Monday.

It’s a three-year, $43.5 million deal with $28.5 million fully guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

While the offensive line has been the focal point for general manager Ryan Poles this offseason — including the expected signing of center Drew Dalman and trades for guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson — the defensive line was also a big need.

After addressing the pass rush with the expected signing of defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo, the Bears addressed the interior with Jarrett, who joins a group that also includes Andrew Billings and Gervon Dexter.
