Crowds fill the streets of Boston ahead of the Boston Marathon

AS WE APPROACH MARATHON MONDAY. SHARMAN. NO DOUBT. ABSOLUTELY. WE ARE JUST STEPS AWAY FROM THE FINISH LINE. I’M GOING TO STEP OUT OF THE WAY SO YOU CAN SEE THE CITY IS REALLY COMING ALIVE HERE. THE CROWDS ARE OUT, YOU HAVE TOURISTS, YOU HAVE FAMILIES, YOU HAVE RUNNERS, YOU HAVE SPECTATORS. THE CITY IS REALLY JUST COMING ALIVE WITH EXCITEMENT AHEAD OF MARATHON MONDAY. THE STREETS OF BOSTON, PACKED WITH RUNNERS AND SPECTATORS TAKING IN THE SIGHTS AND SOUNDS OF THE CITY. THE CROWD, THE FEELING LIKE I ALREADY HAVE CHILLS WALKING AROUND TODAY. I’M SO EXCITED YOU JUST FEEL IN THE AIR. EVERYONE IS SO EXCITED. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE TO BE HERE. IT’S AN HONOR AND A PRIVILEGE TO BE HERE. IT IS. AND THE EXCITEMENT AND THE PEOPLE. IT’S JUST VERY PASSIONATE. EVEN THE LITTLEST ONES AND FOUR LEGGED FRIENDS. GETTING A GLIMPSE OF THE ICONIC FINISH LINE. EVERYBODY’S EXCITED. I MEAN, THE WEATHER IS PERFECT. COULDN’T COULDN’T ASK FOR BETTER AT THE MARATHON EXPO. CHEERS FOR RUNNERS PICKING UP THEIR BIBS. MY DREAM IS TO RUN 100 MARATHONS ACROSS 100 CITIES AROUND THE WORLD. SO THIS IS MY 36TH MARATHON. ON DISPLAY. BILL RODGERS SNEAKERS CAST IN GOLD AND MEB KEFLEZIGHI JERSEY FROM HIS WINNING RACE IN 2014. IT’S A SURREAL EXPERIENCE. I MEAN, I REMEMBER BEING IN LIKE SEVENTH GRADE AND WATCHING IT HAPPEN AND IT’S LIKE, I WANT TO DO THAT ONE DAY. SO WE’RE HERE SOME TRAVELING ACROSS THE WORLD TO FINISH THE BIG SIX, THE WORLD’S MOST PRESTIGIOUS MARATHONS. I’VE DONE NEW YORK, I’VE DONE CHICAGO FOR TWO YEARS. LAST YEAR I DID TOKYO AND THIS YEAR BOSTON. THIS IS MY SIXTH. THE FINAL ONE. I’VE DONE THE OTHER FIVE MAJORS. SO THIS IS LIKE A BUCKET LIST. OH YES, OH YES. I’M GOING TO CROSS THE LINE WITH THIS. THEN I’M DONE. AND THEN HE’S DONE. WELL, WE CAN TELL YOU IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO HEAD INTO THE CITY THIS WEEKEND AT ALL. The streets of Boston were packed with runners and spectators on Saturday, taking in the sights and sounds of the city ahead of Monday’s race. “The crowd, the feeling, I already have chills walking around today, I’m so excited,” said Sarah Formin, who is running the Boston Marathon for the first time. “You just feel in the air — everyone is so excited.” “It’s unbelievable to be here it’s just an honor and a privilege to be here,” said Paul Carter, who is visiting from New Hampshire “The excitement, the people — it’s just very passionate.”Even the littlest ones, and four-legged friends, got a glimpse of the iconic finish line.At the marathon expo, cheers for runners picking up their bibs. “My dream is to run 100 marathons across 100 cities around the world,” Rakesh Bhandaria said, who is from India and competing in the Boston Marathon. “This is my 36th marathon.”Bill Rodgers’ sneakers cast in gold were also on display and Meb Keflezighi’s jersey from his winning race in 2014. “It’s a surreal experience, I remember being in 7th grade watching it happen and saying I want to do it one day, so we’re here,” Maddy Garrison said, who is from Ohio and running in the Boston Marathon.Some traveled across the world to finish the big six, the world’s most prestigious marathons.”I’ve done New York, I’ve done Chicago for two years last year, I did Tokyo, and this year Boston,” Raymond Damerow said, who is from Germany.”This is my sixth, the final one.
