According to The News’ David Moore, the Cowboys believe Jones can play both guard spots and will compete with Brock Hoffman for the starting right guard gig. The team also believes the move would lessen the need for Dallas to use a high pick on the offensive line in April’s draft.
Jones played 1,080 snaps last season, earning a 56.1 overall grade from PFF. He originally joined the Dolphins in 2021 as an undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee State. He has appeared in 49 games over a four-year span.
The move for Jones would be Dallas’ second external free-agency agreement. The Cowboys also agreed to terms with former Broncos running back Javonte Williams.
