Reddit is reportedly down as thousands of users are hit with a ‘server error’ message. The popular social forum-style website started having issues at around 4.30pm today.
Users reported being unable to access Reddit on both the app and website. Over 14,000 complaints about the website were made to Downdetector.
One person was in the middle of drafting a post when they were hit with a ‘server error’ message. They said: “[I] was replying to a comment a moment ago on reddit when suddenly a message popped up saying ‘server error’ and now my notifications are all gone, reddit wall is completely empty can’t view any posts what so ever & all communities apparently do not exist. What is going on?”

Another said: “Looks like reddit has crapped its pants again (android app)”. A third said: “Welp, I guess it happened again.”
Reddit acknowledged issues with the site on their official social media profile called Reddit Status. They said on X, formerly Twitter: “Investigating: We are currently investigating elevated errors across http://reddit.com and the apps.”
Reddit last went down last month when thousands of users said they have were met with a message warning of an ‘internal server error’.
On March 25, Reddit said it was suffering “degraded performance for comments”.
It later said a fix was implemented and the incident was resolved. On March 24, Reddit said it was “experiencing an elevated level of API errors and are currently looking into the issue”.

APIs, or application programming interfaces, are “mechanisms that enable two software components to communicate with each other using a set of definitions and protocols”, Amazon WorkSpaces explained.
Reddit later said the issue was resolved.
