What is Reddit?
Reddit is a vast online platform that blends elements of a forum, social media and a news aggregator. Launched in 2005, it allows users to submit posts, share links, ask questions, and engage in discussions across countless communities known as “subreddits.” Each subreddit focuses on a specific topic—ranging from tech and politics to memes, fitness, or even specific interests such as r/Antiques.
What sets Reddit apart is its voting system: users upvote or downvote content based on quality or relevance, helping the most valued posts rise to the top. The community-driven nature of the site gives it a raw, often unfiltered quality, and it’s known both for sparking viral trends and providing deep, informative conversations.
