TCU center Sedona Prince didn’t hear her name called during Monday night’s 2025 WNBA Draft in New York.
Despite her strong on-court play and ample college experience, off-court concerns about multiple abuse and sexual assault allegations likely took Prince off many WNBA draft boards.
One alleged incident happened as recently as January, although no charges have been filed. Prince has denied all of the aforementioned allegations made against her.
On the ESPN WNBA Draft broadcast, Ryan Ruocco mentioned that Prince’s injury history and age (24) could have also contributed to her not being drafted.
While it’s possible Prince could sign with a WNBA team as an undrafted free agent, her not hearing her name called is most likely due to the off-court allegations and the reasons Ruocco mentioned.
We’ll see if Prince lands in the WNBA after Monday night’s draft and if she is able to stick around on a roster despite the allegations made against her, her injury history and her being 24 as a rookie.
