Bucks and Pacers get into early fight, double technicals issued in first quarter of Game 2 playoff game

It didn’t take long for the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers playoff game to get testy.

The Bucks’ Gary Trent Jr. and the Pacers’ Bennedict Mathurin were issued technical fouls for their roles in the scuffle with just under 2 minutes left in the first quarter in Game 2 on April 22.

The incident started after Trent grabbed the ball away from Pacers’ Pascal Siakim, whose momentum took him to the ground, as the two teams were fighting for a loose ball.

Siakim apparently took exception with the force that Trent used and immediately got up and approached him. Bobby Portis jumped into the mix to offer a barrier. Then things escalated and several players got into each other’s faces.

Pacers guard TJ McConnell also grabbed his teammate, Siakim, to offer some separation.
