Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen back in ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ sequel; how to watch the original free

Adam Sandler is getting back into the swing of things this summer as he returns to the golf course for “Happy Gilmore 2.”

On Tuesday, Netflix dropped a teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel to the 1996 slapstick comedy with a peek into a star-studded cast of celebrities and pro golfers. The trailer shows Happy Gilmore (Sandler) getting back into the golf after leaving the sport behind in his big championship win in the first film.

The sequel, set to be released on Netflix on July 25, will reunite Sandler with some of his co-stars from the first film: Julie Bowen, Happy’s love interest; Ben Stiller, a nursing home orderly; and Christopher McDonald, who played arrogant star golfer, Shooter McGavin.

You can watch the original “Happy Gilmore” film on Tubi for free on any device. You can also rent the 1996 film on Amazon Video, Fandango at Home, on Microsoft’s Movies Anywhere, Spectrum, all for $3.99. You can own the film for $7.99 on Microsoft Movies Anywhere, or purchase for $14.99 from Amazon, Fandango, YouTube and Apple iTunes.

Is ‘Happy Gilmore’ on Netflix?

While the sequel “Happy Gilmore 2” will arrive on Netflix on July 25, the original film is not available on the platform, as of March 18.
