Rolex has announced its 2025 suite of watches.

The Land-Dweller marks Rolex’s first new sport model in over a decade. It features the brand’s new high-frequency calibre movement, promising even more enhanced accuracy, and introduces the “Dynapulse” escapement, a key innovation with seven patents, said to provide a 30 per cent increase in energy efficiency compared to standard Swiss lever escapements.

The design incorporates an ultra-slim Jubilee bracelet and an angular case reminiscent of the historic Oysterquartz models — an aesthetic that led to some speculation the brand was about to reintroduce quartz into its watchmaking.

Two watches that served as direct inspiration for the Land-Dweller: Rolex’s ref. 1630, a two-tone mechanical Datejust from 1974, and the ref. 5100, a quartz watch from 1969.

Available in platinum, rose gold, and “white Rolesor”, Rolex’s own gold mix, the Land-Dweller comes in 36mm and 40mm sizes, with prices ranging from CHF 13,300 to CHF 111,500.

Next, the GMT-Master has been released with Rolex’s first Cerachrom dial – made from a green ceramic. It’s a “Destro” watch, meaning the winding crown is on the left, and is produced for the first time in 18ct white gold.

The Oyster Perpetual range has been expanded with lacquered dials in pastel shades – lavender, beige and pistachio.

Rolex’s 1908 dress watch now comes on a new seven-link metal bracelet, named Settimo and reserved specifically for the model, it is fashioned from 18ct yellow gold.

Rolex brings flamboyance to other areas of its catalogue, too.

The Cosmograph Daytona has been launched with a turquoise blue lacquer dial, quite a departure from Rolex’s traditional Daytona dials.

The GMT-Master II is being released with tiger iron dial. Tiger iron being a rare metamorphic rock composed of tiger’s eye, hematite, and red jasper, giving the watch a deep, earthy texture with streaks of gold, red, and black. The natural material also makes each piece unique.

Finally, the Sky-Dweller now comes with the option of a sunray-finish dial in bright green.

Green is, of course, Rolex’s colour and it has a history of experimentation with green dials (notably in the Submariner “Hulk” and Day-Date Olive Green) — still, this new Sky-Dweller shade underlines The Crown’s new willingness to go all-in on loud and colourful statement wristwear.

It’s quite the line-up.
