Alisson Becker missed Wednesday night’s Merseyside derby due to concussion protocols, Arne Slot confirmed.
The goalkeeper was not part of Liverpool’s matchday squad for the Premier League encounter at Anfield.
Alisson had been an early departure from the Brazil national team set-up in the recent international period after being involved in a collision during their World Cup qualifier with Colombia.
Speaking ahead of the fixture with Everton, Slot told Sky Sports: “We as a club follow the protocol and he had to tick all the boxes and yesterday he didn’t tick the last box, so that means he cannot start.
“The good thing for us is we’ve got Caoimhin Kelleher, who has shown many times this season and in previous seasons that he’s maybe even too good to be Ali’s back-up.”
