Auburn beats Michigan State, advances to Final Four: Live updates and reaction from men’s March Madness 2025 Elite Eight game

(1) Auburn has advanced to the Final Four for the second time in its history, overcoming an injury to star player Johni Broome to beat (2) Michigan State 70-64.

Broome, a contender for national player of the year, suffered an injury on an awkward fall midway through the second half and went back to the locker room, but after undergoing X-rays made a dramatic return to the game and soon hit a 3-pointer.

Auburn, whose previous Final Four appearance came in 2019, will face SEC rival (1) Florida in the semifinals on Saturday.

It’s just the second time since seeding in the NCAA Tournament began in 1979 that all four 1-seeds have reached the Final Four. The previous instance was in 2008, which coincidentally saw the Final Four hosted at the same location as this year’s – the Alamodome in San Antonio.
