The new look Big Ten tournament is here with the conference expanding to feature 15 of its 18 teams in the tournament in 2025.

For the second time in four seasons, it was the Fighting Illini that reached the mountain top and defeated Wisconsin 93-87 in the Big Ten Tournament championship game at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

In the 2024 NCAA tournament, Illinois made it all the way to the Elite Eight before they ran into the buzz saw that was UConn, who defeated Illinois 77-52 in the East Regional Final and cruised to back-to-back National Championships with a 75-60 win over fellow Big Ten member Purdue.

When does 2025 Men’s Big Ten Tournament start?

This year’s edition of the Big Ten tournament starts with the first round on Wednesday, March 12 from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Minnesota and Northwestern will get the action started with the opening game at 3:30 p.m., with the winner facing Wisconsin in the second round on Thursday afternoon.

The second game features Ohio State vs. Iowa, with Rutgers and USC rounding out the three-pack of games in the first round with the late game on Wednesday night.

The first round of the Big Ten tournament will be streaming on Peacock.

After the opening games, the second round and quarterfinals will air on the Big Ten Network (BTN).

When it comes down to the final four schools competing for the conference championship, the action will transition to CBS and streaming on Paramount+ for the semifinals and finals on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16.
