A prominent face in 1980s and 1990s TV has suddenly died. Former ‘Cosby Show’ star Malcom-Jamal Warner has died at the age of 54. TMZ was the first to report the news Monday afternoon. 

They say his cause of death appears to be an accidental drowning. We expect to learn more details about this tragedy soon. In fact, as of this moment, TMZ has been the only outlet to confirm the news of his death.

Macolm was best known for playing the role of Theodore Huxtable on the “The Cosby Show.” In recent years he reportedly voiced cartoons (including a role on “The Magic School Bus”) and hosted a podcast (called “Not All Hood.”).

He was reportedly quite private about his family ife, but he does leave behind a wife and a daughter, TMZ says.
