Celtics Make Unfortunate Jaylen Brown Announcement Before Grizzlies Game

On Monday night, the Boston Celtics will take on the Memphis Grizzlies as they look to end the month of March on a high note. The Celtics are 13-1 so far in March, with their lone loss coming at the hands of the league-leading Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Celtics and Grizzlies met up once so far this season in December. This game culminated in a six-point loss for the Celtics, so they will be seeking revenge against Memphis on Monday.

Ahead of their game against the Grizzlies, the Celtics made a notable announcement regarding star Jaylen Brown that may not bode well for their shot at redemption in Memphis.

Because of a knee injury, Brown has missed five games for the Celtics in the month of March. However, the Georgia native has appeared in each of the Celtics’ last three games.

Unfortunately for Brown and the Celtics, the team has ruled him out against the Grizzlies.

With just a couple of weeks left in the regular season, the Celtics will aim to gain as much momentum as possible as they prepare for their title defense. Just 4.5 games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers in the standings, the No. 1 seed is still up for grabs. However, the Celtics are likely prioritizing health over the ranking.

Since he will not suit up against the Grizzlies, Brown’s next opportunity to play for the Celtics will be on Wednesday against the Miami Heat when the team returns to Boston. Hopefully for Brown and the Celtics, he will be able to make his return sooner rather than later.
