Chipotle brings back Burrito Vault game: How to win free food for National Burrito Day

WASHINGTON — Chipotle is giving away more than $1 million in free food ahead of National Burrito Day through the return of its interactive Burrito Vault game.

From Monday, March 31 at 9 a.m. Eastern through Wednesday, April 2 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern, the chain will offer 2,500 buy one, get one free entrée codes each hour to the first guests who can “unlock the Burrito Vault by guessing the correct Chipotle order.”

According to the company, last year’s game was played more than two million times. 

The 2025 challenge involves guessing an exact order combination, ingredient by ingredient, to unlock the bank. Players will have four attempts each hour and can win just one BOGO code during the duration of the campaign. 

In total, up to 157,500 buy one, get one free codes will be given away. The codes are redeemable only on Thursday, April 3, National Burrito Day. 

Additionally, the first person each hour to correctly guess the order combination will win a free burrito each week for a year. 

Those who unlock the vault after all the buy one, get one free codes have been redeemed can still get 25 Chipotle Rewards Points. 

“Last year, our Burrito Vault drove unprecedented fan engagement that resulted in our highest digital transaction day of all time,” said Chris Brandt, Chief Brand Officer. “Now, we are giving them another chance to crack the code and score more free burritos.” 

Chipotle Rewards members can also redeem a $0 delivery free offer via the chain’s website and mobile app on National Burrito Day with the promo code: DELIVER. 

National Burrito Day is celebrated on the first Thursday in April, which this year means it falls on April 3, 2025.
