Starbucks is brewing up a fresh look starting May 12.
The coffee chain will roll out a revamped dress code for its retail employees across North America, aiming to sharpen its signature green apron aesthetic and unify the in-store customer experience, Starbucks said Monday.
The update centers on a simplified, more defined color palette that complements the company’s iconic green aprons. Employees, also known as partners, will now wear solid black shirts, either crewneck, collared, or button-up, paired with bottoms in black, khaki, or any shade of blue denim, the company said.
The move marks a return to basics that Starbucks says will not only enhance visual consistency for customers, but also provide partners with clearer, easier-to-follow guidance. To support the transition, Starbucks will supply two new branded T-shirts at no cost to each employee, Starbucks said.
“Our partners are the face of our brand,” the company said in a statement. “By updating our dress code, we can deliver a more consistent coffeehouse experience and foster deeper connections with our customers.”
