College hockey fans arrive in Manchester for NCAA regional tournament

FANS ARE FEELING ABOUT THE GAMES, MARIA. IT’S MARCH MADNESS, WHICH MEANS ALL EYES MIGHT BE ON COLLEGE BASKETBALL, BUT COLLEGE MEN’S ICE HOCKEY IS ALSO GETTING THEIR MOMENT TO RIGHT HERE AT THE SNHU ARENA. SOME OF THE BEST TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE ARE FACING OFF, AND THEY ARE ALL ON THE ROAD TOWARDS THAT. NCAA TITLE. WITH THE 16 TEAM BRACKET IN ITS PLACE. IT’S ALL LEADING UP TO THE FROZEN FOUR IN SAINT LOUIS NEXT MONTH, BUT FIRST, TEAMS WILL HAVE TO GET THROUGH THE REGIONAL PLAY AND THAT STARTS TODAY RIGHT HERE IN MANCHESTER FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW, BOSTON COLLEGE’S MEN’S HOCKEY IS THE NUMBER ONE OVERALL SEED. THEY ARE SQUARED OFF AGAINST THE FOURTH SEED BENTLEY FALCONS. THAT GAME STARTED AT 230, AND THE PROVIDENCE FRIARS AND THE DENVER PIONEERS ARE ALSO GOING HEAD TO HEAD TONIGHT. BOTH TEAMS BRINGING IN FANS FROM ACROSS NEW ENGLAND WHO SAY THEY WILL GLADLY MAKE THE DRIVE TO SUPPORT THEIR TEAM. IT’S GOING TO BE EPIC. WE GOT BC NUMBER ONE GOING IN AND POTENTIAL TO PLAY THE RIVALS DENVER ON SUNDAY. SO ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. WE GOT THE BENTLEY FALCONS ALL THE WAY. SO GO BENTLEY. I THINK THIS IS AWESOME. THIS IS A GREAT VENUE. GREAT PLACE TO HAVE IT. EVEN THOUGH IT’S A LITTLE BIT OF A DRIVE FOR ME. I WOULD COME UP HERE EVERY YEAR TO WATCH THIS. NOW THE FRIARS PIONEER GAME IS SCHEDULED FOR 530 TONIGHT. THE WINNERS FROM EACH OF TONIGHT’S GAME WILL FACE OFF AGAINST EACH

Some of the best teams in men’s college ice hockey are playing in Manchester this weekend for a shot at the national title.SNHU Arena is hosting one of the regionals, in which one team will move on to the Frozen Four in St. Louis.For the second year in a row, Boston College is the No. 1 overall seed. They squared off Friday afternoon against the Bentley University Falcons, with the Providence Friars and Denver Pioneers set to play Friday night.BC beat Bentley 3-1 in the afternoon game.Both games were bringing in fans from across New England, who said they were glad to make the drive to support their team.>> Download the free WMUR app to get updates on the go: Apple | Google Play <<“It’s going to be epic,” said BC fan Ryan McKenna. “We’ve got BC No. 1 going in and the potential to play the rivals, Denver, on Sunday, so it’s absolutely awesome.””We’ve got the Bentley Falcons all the way, so go Bentley!” said Ethan Benjamin, of Braintree, Massachusetts.Hockey fans said they were happy to see the high-level competition so close to home.”I think this is awesome,” said David Glazer, of Mashpee, Massachusetts. “This is a great venue, a great place to have it. Even though it’s a little bit of a drive for me, I would come up here every year to watch it.”The winners from Friday’s games will face off on Sunday.
