Grant Horvat wins Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass

Grant Horvat buries the birdie putt for the win.

George Bryan IV finds water in playoff

Oh no. George from the Bryan Bros gave it a club twirl, but he spun his shot too much and it goes off the green. Soly and Grant Horvat find the green, and Horvat has a great look for birdie.

Grant Horvat, Soly, George Bryan IV advance to playoff

The trio will play the par-3 17th again. The lowest score will win. If there’s a tie, they will go to a chip-off to determine a winner.

Fat Perez pours in long birdie putt on 17

FB! From the back of the green, downhill, pours in the long birdie putt. What a shot.

Bryan Bros, Grant Horvat, Fat Perez all find green on 17

After a rough start, the final seven players all found the green. George Bryan IV and Grant Horvat need no worse than bogey to join Soly in the one-hole shootout.

Soly taps in for par, secures spot in final 3

Soly from No Laying Up started with a double bogey and then had seven straight pars, including a tap-in on 17, and he’s locked in to the final three who will play 17 again to decide the creator classic. Roger Steele makes bogey, and he’s at 3 over and needs Grant Horvat or George Bryan IV, who are at 1 over, to double or worse to have a shot at the final three.

Roger Steele, Soly, Gabby Golf Girl all hit green

The second threesome on the 17th all finds the green, but 17-year-old Gabby Golf Girl hit her tee shot to 8 feet. Three good shots. Soly and Steele are tied for third and only three players get to play the 17th again, and Steele has to have a miracle to get up and down for par from the right side of the green.

Tisha Alyn hits island green, Barstool Trent sends crowd into frenzy

The first group is on the 17th, the final hole before switching to the three-player shootout. And in the first group, Tisha Alyn is the only one to find the green. Berkshire took two shots to find it and Trent hit not one, not two, not three, but four shots in the water. He finally found the green on his fifth shot. Hell yeah, Trent.

Swing and a miss

Embarrassing, sure. But the content. So, so good.

Barstool Trent with a brilliant strategy

Chess, not checkers move from Trent and Frankie.

Checking in on the leaderboard

Grant Horvat made bogey on the par-4 14th after hitting his tee shot into the bunker, dropping back to even par. He still leads. George Bryan is at 1 over, playing in the final group with Horvat. Soly is 2 over and has a birdie putt coming up on 15. Kyle Berkshire is at 3 over but in trouble off the tee at 16.

Grant Horvat buries bomb from off green

We have a player under par. Grant Horvat buried a 40 footer from off the green for birdie, and he moves to 1 under, two in front of George Bryan and Tisha Alyn.

Soly settling in

He did lay up on the par-5 11th (booooo) but Soly from No Laying Up has three pars after his opening double.

Fireball shots from Frankie Borrelli

In the middle of an interview with Paige Spiranac, Barstool’s Frankie Borrelli, caddying for Trent Ryan, took a shot of fireball. C’mon, Frankie, his play isn’t that bad!

Gabby Golf Girl and caddie conversations

Gabby Golf Girl and her father, who is her caddie, have had a couple excellent conversations setting up for shots. One of them on the par-4 12th, when she pulled off a great drive to give her a 55-yard approach into the hole.

Kyle Berkshire pulls the big stick

Peer pressure works. Kyle Berkshire pulled driver on the par-4 12th after some encouragement from the crowd, but it leads to a 6.

Trent Ryan shank

Trent Ryan, the true definition of one of us. A shank on his second hole.

Creator Classic leaderboard update

Every group has completed the first hole, though Grant Horvat and George Bryan were the only two players to make par. Kyle Berkshire, after a bogey at 10, birdied the par-5 11th and is back to even.

Dropped from coverage?

Yes, it’s just for fun and not serious. But how in the world has the second group of three players not had a shot shown since their opening tee shot? Coming up on 30 minutes. Bad, bad, bad.

Watch where you’re walking, Riggs

Following his fellow Stoolie Trent, Riggs is like a distracted driver staring at his phone but got some good TV time.

Carnage incoming?

Wesley Bryan, who won the 2017 RBC Heritage, said TPC Sawgrass isn’t set up the best for a competition like the Creator Classic because of how difficult it’s playing. One can wonder how high scores will get this afternoon.

Soly is Laying Up?

Chris Solomon from No Laying Up takes driver off the first tee, and it races toward the left trees but bounces out, much to the pleasure of the crowd. Roger Steele also finds the left trees but further down the fairway. Gabby Golf Girl is next, and she stripes one down the fairway. Girls 2/2 hitting the fairway, guys 0/4.

Kyle Berkshire bends club while warming up

Paige Spiranac, who is one of the commentators at the Creator Classic, shared that Kyle Berkshire broke his 4-iron while warming up on the range. Because he swings so quickly, a slight mishit can cause the club to break. While warming up, he bent the shaft of his 4-iron and had to replace it before beginning.

Kyle Berkshire hits first drive

Fore left for Kyle Berkshire, who takes an iron off the par-4 10th. Barstool Trent rips driver and it calls for a fore right. Tisha Alyn then rips driver right down the middle, and we’re underway.

Heads up

Being it there are some non-scratch golfers playing some of the most difficult holes in the world, there’s bound to be some … fun … shots, so to say. Daniel Rapaport, one of the commentators for this afternoon’s matches, is out on the range watching players warm up.

Barstool Trent warms up

Trent Ryan from Barstool’s Fore Play won a qualifier to play at TPC Sawgrass. He has Frankie on his bag this afternoon.

Less than an hour until the first tee time, and the creators and their caddies are getting last-minute prep in. Or problems, as Robby Berger ran into.
