The girlfriend of Brett Gardner’s late son, Miller Gardner, is heartbroken over his death.
“I am so so crushed and I never imagine this could happen,” Zoe Williams captioned a tribute video on her TikTok account, which has since been made private.
“I just wish I could’ve said goodbye or talked to you or even given you a hug for one last time. I love you more than anything and I’ll never be able to get over your loss.”

Reminiscing on their romance, the teen added, “I am so glad that I got to experience love with you even though we were too young to make it last. I’ll never trade the time we had.”
Williams concluded in her message to Miller, “You made me feel so special and I’ll never forget that. I will forever remember you until I die.”
She also posted several pictures of them together, including when she supported him at a baseball game and when they went to a neon party together.
It is evident the pair shared strong feelings for each other, as Miller was even seen in one of the photos sporting a T-shirt that read, “I [heart] my girlfriend.”

The 14-year-old tragically died last Friday while on vacation with his parents, Brett and Jessica Gardner, and other members of his family at the Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort in Costa Rica.
Local officials from Costa Rica’s Judicial Investigation Police (OIJ) have since said the “whole family fell ill, likely from food poisoning from something they ate” during their stay. The case is under investigation.
The authorities initially said they believed Miller died from asphyxiation as a result of the “possible intoxication” he suffered after “apparently ingesting some food.”
However, that cause was then ruled out, per People, as “no macro-level abnormalities were observed in the respiratory tract upon inspection of the body,” OIJ official Juan Pablo Alvarado Garcia said.
An official cause of death is pending the full autopsy report and toxicology test results.

He was on vacation with his family in Costa Rica at the time.
Aside from Zoe, Miller’s parents also expressed online how devastated they are over his loss.
They announced his death “with heavy hearts” in a statement shared on the Yankees’ X account on Sunday, adding that he left them “far too soon.”
Brett, 41, and Jessica remembered their son as having an “infectious smile” and living “life to the fullest every single day.” They said they were left with “so many questions and so few answers at this point.”

The hotel where the Gardners stayed has not yet assumed responsibility for the teen’s death.
When reached by The Post Tuesday, the resort said, “We are deeply saddened by this loss and our hearts go out to the family during this incredibly difficult time.
“The factors that led to this tragic incident are unknown and we are fully cooperating with authorities as they investigate.”
