The Broncos originally selected Williams with the 35th overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft out of North Carolina. One of his best games as a rookie came in Week 9 of the 2021 campaign, when he ran for 111 yards on 17 carries against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.
Adding Williams gives the Cowboys a veteran presence at running back with last year’s leading rusher, Rico Dowdle, on the free-agent market. Dallas also released Ezekiel Elliott before the 2024 season ended.
