Death Is Up to Its Old Tricks in ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ Trailer

That macabre menace, that sinister specter, the Grim Reaper, Death himself, is back with some truly outrageous ways of taking out his unsuspecting victims in the new trailer for Final Destination Bloodlines

The new clip for the latest installment of the horror franchise opens with a truly Rube Goldberg-ian sequence at a backyard BBQ: It starts with a shard of broken glass hidden amongst the ice of someone’s beverage, goes through grill flare-ups, broken trampolines, and an out-of-control hose, before finally ending with what appears to be a lawn mower to the face.

All the while, one character ruminates, “I always knew this day would come. I held him off for years. He’s a relentless son of a bitch, won’t stop until he finishes the job. Death is coming for our family.”

The trailer goes on to offer a light tease of the film’s actual plot, which centers around Stefanie, a college student who returns home to find the one person that might be able to help her family avert the looming shadow of Death that’s been tormenting them for generations.

The end of the clip also offers a glimpse of Tony Todd playing, for the last time, William Bludworth, the funeral home operator who’s appeared in several films throughout the franchise. Todd died last November, and Final Destination Bloodlines, is slated to be his final film performance.

“Only by embracing death will it pass you by,” Bludworth says in the trailer.

Along with Todd, Final Destination Bloodlines stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, and Brec Bassinger. The movie was directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky.
