Sevilla of Spain winger, Chidera Ejuke is eyeing an exciting and victorious outing with his club in Sunday’s Spanish La Liga derby away to Real Betis Balompie.

Heading into the 8pm kickoff at the home ground of their Andalusia neighbours, the product of Gombe United, who played on loan at Hertha Berlin of Germany and Royal Antwerp of Belgium before signing for Sevilla on June 17, 2024, enthused that it will end well for him and his team.

Sports247 gathered that Sunday’s match comes two weeks after Ejuke returned to the Seville-based club’s starting 11 for their March 16th clash with Athletic Bilbao and he got 67 minutes of action before being replaced in their 1-0 loss at home.

The dazzling winger, who has also previously played for Valerenga of Norway, SC Heereveen of Netherlands and CSKA Moscow of Russia, opined that he and his colleagues will be boosted by the atmosphere they enjoyed at home in the first round and expressed optimism that they will not face any hostilities in the reverse fixture at Estadio Beniyo Villamarin.

Ejuke, who has eight national team caps but was not invited for the Super Eagles’ last six matches, recalled how exciting the first Derby versus Betis was and exuded hope for a better atmosphere in Sunday’s reverse fixture.

“It was amazing, honestly. It was like one of the best. Even a day before the game, the atmosphere in the stadium, when we were training and preparing, was amazing. This gives you a lovely feeling and a presentation of what you need as a football player. These are moments you cherish and moments you live for. It’s amazing, simply amazing,” Ejuke exuded with glee.

However, checks by Sports247 revealed that Ejuke and his teammates will have to redouble their efforts in Sunday’s clash, because Betis lie well ahead of them on La Liga’s log; as the hosts are in 6th position with 44 points, while Sevilla are 12th with 36 points
