Nikki Spoelstra, the ex-wife of Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra, found herself on the wrong end of a viral social media rumor on Sunday. This is after the 38-year-old former Heat dancer saw some nasty allegations involving Miami rising star Jaime Jaquez Jr. thrown in her direction.
A rumor is going around that Nikki Spoelstra has been sleeping with Jaquez. Several outlets on social media have shared a narrative accusing her of having a relationship with the 24-year-old small forward. This stems from Nikki Spoelstra commenting and liking a number of Jaquez’s posts on Instagram.
The issue has gone completely viral, which has led to Nikki Spoelstra having to address the matter directly. The podcast host broke her silence with a statement strongly denying the allegations.
“Y’all streets give me way too much power when (expletive) doesn’t go your way in pro sports,” she started. “It’s one thing for you sports fanatics to come onto my page after I made a really big life choice and talk crazy. And it’s another thing entirely for you to come to my page and harass me and call me crazy names over something.
“A rumor. A (expletive) story that is 100% flat out not true.”

“So this little rumor that you sports trolls are going wild about, I would never do that for two main reasons, which I actually don’t feel the obligation to explain to you. Just that it would not happen and it’s not real.
“And while your story might be entertaining with these little plot assumptions, there are so many holes in your story and quite frankly, it’s just really bad storytelling.”
Nikki Spoelstra then went on to say that she had already spoken to Jaquez’s mother and his girlfriend, who were both also dragged into the nasty rumor.
“So while all of you guys are entertaining yourselves with fabricated nonsense, I already talked to the girlfriend,” she continued. “I already talked to the mom and the three of us are over here rolling our eyes at all you knuckleheads.”
Nikki Spoelstra made it abundantly clear that while she considers herself a public figure, this does not give anyone the right to go on her page to call her names and accuse her of such wild allegations.
According to the Miami Herald, Nikki and Erik Spoelstra finalized their divorce in November 2023 after seven years of marriage. They issued a joint statement wherein the two emphasized how they remain “fully committed to co-parenting our children” amid their separation.
The former couple have three kids: Santiago, 6, Dante, 4 and Ruby, 2.
