TRIBUTES have been paid to a Rangers supporter who tragically died in the early hours of this morning in Istanbul ahead of the Ibrox side’s clash with Fenerbahce.
Christopher Potter was among thousands of Gers fans who travelled to watch tonight’s Europa League showdown against Fenerbahce but died after being struck by two different vehicles as he crossed a busy road in the city.

But pal Daryl McKernan was been quick to organise a Go Fund Me page, with a whopping £37.5k raised already in just a matter of hourse.
That’s 75% of the £50k target already – and one of the biggest donors is none other than former Scotland star Robert Snodgrass.
The Leeds Utd and Norwich hero chipped in £1,000 to the pot early on to get the ball rolling.
Not everyone has made such a major contribution – but with more than 1,000 contributors it’s quite a show of support.
One fan wrote: “Deepest sympathies to Chris’s family and friends” while another said: “So sorry for the family x”
Another, from the William McAdam Loyal RSC Alexandra, wrote: “Deepest condolences from all our members.”
Posting on Go Fund Me, Daryl said: “As everybody is aware Christopher Potter was tragically killed while away watching his beloved Rangers.
“Let’s try and get some money together to help with any costs needed, his funeral or getting him home or just to help his wife and kids.
“Let’s dig deep all donations will be greatly appreciated.”
A Rangers statement read: “We are devastated to have learned of the passing of one of our supporters in a road traffic accident overnight in Istanbul.
