At 8:41 a.m. EDT on Thursday, the National Weather Service released a flood warning in effect until Friday at 11 a.m. EDT for Genesee County.
The weather service comments, “Minor flooding is forecast. At 7 a.m. Thursday the stage was 10.0 feet and rising. The river will rise to 10.2 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tonight to 9.4 feet early Saturday morning for Kearsley Creek near Davison.”
The weather service states, “Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. The next statement will be issued this evening at 8:45 p.m.”
