MORNING NEWS. NO DOUBT IT WAS AN ACTIVE WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THE OVERNIGHT AND EARLY THIS THURSDAY MORNING. WE’RE STILL DEALING WITH SOME HEAVY RAINFALL NEAR THE METRO OR SOGGY. BUT IT PICKS UP SHOWERS EVEN A FEW THUNDERSTORMS AS YOU HEAD SOUTH THROUGH KENTUCKY. IT’S DRIER TO THE NORTH. NOTICE STILL SOME FLASHING ORANGE BOXES. IT’S STILL SOME SEVERE WEATHER IMMEDIATELY SOUTH AND EAST OF THE WLKY REGION. THE GOOD NEWS IS, THOUGH, I THINK YOU FINALLY ARE RAIN COOLED ENOUGH AROUND ADAIR COUNTY, COLUMBIA UP TOWARDS GREEN TAYLOR COUNTY. YOUR SEVERE WEATHER THREAT IS DONE, BUT IT’S IMMEDIATELY OFF TO THE SOUTH AND EAST. STILL, SOME 70S DOWN INTO SOUTH AND EASTERN KENTUCKY, WHICH IS JUST ENOUGH FUEL FOR THE THUNDERSTORM FIRE EARLY THIS THURSDAY MORNING. HERE YOU CAN SEE THE NUMBERS MIDDLE TO UPPER 60S ACROSS THE AREA. 63 TO 67 IS GOING TO BE THE RULE, INCLUDING 64 IN TOWN. SO IT’S A VERY WARM START. BUT WE DON’T MOVE MUCH TODAY. WE’RE GOING TO HAVE CLOUDS, RAIN, OCCASIONAL STORMS TOO, WITH HIGHS NEAR 69 DEGREES. FEW OF THOSE STORMS IN OUR SOUTHERN COMMUNITIES LATER THIS AFTERNOON COULD ALSO BE ON THE STRONG SIDE. WE WATCH THAT CLOSELY. RAIN AND STORMS TONIGHT AND INTO EARLY FRIDAY. MOST OF THAT WILL LIFT NORTH. WE’LL CATCH SOME DRY TIME IN THE AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES START TO WARM INTO THE MIDDLE 70S, BUT MORE RAIN AND STORMS LIKELY FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY. A FEW OF THOSE FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY STORMS MAY HAVE A LITTLE BETTER CHANCE OF BEING BACK TO THE STRONG TO SEVERE SIDE AGAIN. BUT WITH ALL THE RAIN COMING THE NEXT THREE FOUR DAYS ALL THE WAY THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING, THERE IS A FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT, MOST LOCAL CREEKS, STREAMS AND RIVERS I THINK WILL START TO GO ABOVE FLOOD STAGE WITH THE ROUNDS OF RAIN THAT WE’RE GOING TO HAVE BY 11:00 THIS MORNING, MAYBE A LITTLE BREAK ALONG THE OHIO RIVER WITH RAIN TO THE SOUTH. BUT LOOK HOW MORE RIDES UP ALONG A FRONTAL SYSTEM THAT’S GOING TO BE OVER US FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. AND IT’S QUITE LITERALLY GOING TO BE A PATHWAY FOR WAVES OF SHOWERS AND STORMS TO MOVE IN OUR DIRECTION. CAN’T RULE OUT A STRONGER SELL DOWN TO THE SOUTH. IF WE CAN GET TEMPERATURES HEADED UP ONCE AGAIN INTO THE 70S. SO WE’LL WATCH THAT CLOSELY. DOWN SOUTH, A STRONGER SEVERE STORM CAN’T BE RULED OUT IN OUR SKIES TODAY. LOOK AT TONIGHT INTO TOMORROW MORNING AGAIN. WE CONTINUE TO SEE THESE WAVES, THESE ROUNDS OF HEAVY RAINFALL WITH EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS. AND WHILE MOST OF THAT STARTS TO LIFT NORTH DURING THE DAY ON FRIDAY AND WE CATCH A LITTLE BIT OF A BREAK, LOOK WHAT COMES BACK OUR WAY FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY. ANOTHER FIERCE LOOKING LINE OF SOME THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE AREA. PUT IT ALL TOGETHER THROUGH THE WEEKEND. WE’RE LOOKING AT MANY LOCATIONS, GETTING SIX TO MAYBE TEN INCHES OF RAIN. EVEN THIS PARTICULAR FORECAST MODEL AROUND SHEPHERDSVILLE, BRANDENBURG, LITCHFIELD PEEING 11IN OF RAIN. THAT IS SIGNIFICANT. FLOODING RAINFALL ACROSS OUR REGION. SO WE WATCH IT ALL CLOSELY FOR YOU. WITH THE THUNDERSTORM CHANCES EACH OF THE NEXT THREE DAYS, WE GO TO RAIN AND A LITTLE LIGHTER. ON THAT NOTE, ON SUNDAY, AS A FRONT MOVES THROUGH AND KNOCKS OUR HIGHS DOWN TO THE MIDDLE 50S. SUNDAY 58 MONDAY. BUT MONDAY NIGHT BRINGS A RETURN TO A FEW LIGHTER RAIN SHOWERS THAT COMES WITH A STRONG COLD FRONT. LOOK AT THE LOWS TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY MORNING DOWN NEAR FREEZING IN TOWN. WILL BE IN THE 20S IN THE SUBURBS AND OUTSIDE OF THE METRO, AND HIGHS REALLY STRUGGLE. TUESDAY A
