Ford to offer employee pricing to customers as auto tariffs go into effect

WASHINGTON (TNND) — Ford Motor Company said it will offer American consumers temporary access to employee pricing in a new initiative called From America, For America.

“For 121 years, we’ve put our money where our mouth is, assembling vehicles that Americans rely on and supporting American jobs,” Ford said in the statement to Fox News. “Today, we’re proud to announce a new U.S. initiative that’s more than just a promotion. It’s a handshake deal with every American.”

The company cited “uncertain times” and the “complexities of a changing economy” as the reason for launching the discount from April 3 to June 2.

Shoppers will be able to save on 2024 and 2025 hybrid, plug-in hybrid, diesel and gas-powered Ford and Lincoln vehicles. The 2025 Expedition and Navigator SUVs, the Raptors and Super Duty trucks are excluded from the deal.

“We have the retail inventory to do this and a lot of choice for customers that need a vehicle,” Ford said.

Ford’s Power Promise will offer electric vehicle shoppers a complimentary home charger and standard installation through June 30.

The initiative comes after President Donald Trump announced a 25% tariff on all foreign-made vehicles in an effort to increase manufacturing and production in the United States.

Canada retaliated on Thursday by saying it would match the 25% tariffs on all vehicles that are not compliant with the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA).

“Our old relationship of steadily deepening integration with the United States is over. The 80-year period when the United States embraced the mantle of global economic leadership is over,” Prime Minister Mark Carney said.
