7-Eleven is nearly 100 years old. July 11 marks the convenience store chain’s 98th birthday – its first store opened in Dallas in 1927.

Members of the 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards loyalty programs can also get special Slurpee-activated temporary tongue tattoos at select 7-Eleven and Speedway locations. The S-shaped tattoos, when placed on the tongue after partaking of the frozen drink, appear in blue, green, red or pink.
Though Reno is not one of the cities that is participating in the Slurpee Day tongue tattoo program, Renoites on vacation to nearby cities such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, or San Diego can visit 7-Eleven stores for these special Slurpee Day tongue tattoos.
