Many of George Foreman’s kids followed in their father’s footsteps in one way or another.

The Olympic gold medalist, boxing champion, and grill entrepreneur — who died on March 21 at age 76 — had five sons and five daughters, many of whom have either pursued their own careers in boxing or contributed to their father’s career on the business side of his many ventures.

The late boxing champion gave all of his five sons the same name – George Edward Foreman — and was also father to daughters Natalie, Leola, Michi, Georgetta and the late Freeda.

Foreman often spoke about why he named his sons George, explaining that sharing the same name united his children together. “I wanted them to have something in common … I tell them if one goes up, we all go up. If one gets in trouble, we’re all in trouble,” Foreman said on In Depth with Graham Besinger in 2021. “I tell them, either live up to the name or change it.”

He also told CBN the same year that his children were “the one thing I’m most proud of.” He added, “They’ve gone on, some of them, to stand the test, to get college education, and that’s the hardest thing in the world to achieve; but most of all they’re good parents, and that’s what I’m proud of.”

Foreman’s large family shared the news of his death on March 21 on the grill founder’s official Instagram account. “Our hearts are broken,” the statement began. “With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr. who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. A devout preacher, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grand and great grandfather, he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility, and purpose.”

Here’s everything to know about George Foreman’s children: Michi, George Jr. Georgetta, Freeda, George “Monk” III, Leola, Natalie, George “Big Wheel” IV, George “Red” V and George “Little Joey” VI.

Foreman’s oldest daughter is Michi Foreman.

Michi keeps much of her life private, however she often shares throwback photos of her and her family on her social media.

In 2020, she posted a portrait on Instagram of her and her father in the 1970s, and a photo of herself, her father, and her late sister Freeda one year after she died. In 2021, she posted a black-and-white photo of her ringside with her father on Instagram with the caption “Me and my daddy.”

Foreman’s first son, George Foreman Jr., focused his career on the business side of boxing, rather than getting in the ring.

Growing up, Foreman trained George Jr. in boxing, but “went broke” in the midst of the training and had to go back to boxing himself, George Jr. said on the Sway in the Morning radio show in 2014. Foreman didn’t want anyone else training his son — so George Jr. stopped boxing and focused on basketball instead.

“I didn’t even think about boxing, but I was always around [my father’s] big fights,” George Jr. said on the radio show. “I was always around [boxing promoter] Bob Arum — I used to sit in the corner while they were taking these big deals, HBO deals, and act like I wasn’t listening.”

For years, George Jr. worked as a marketing executive with the company that created the George Foreman Grill. “I’m a product of the Foreman Grill. My father taught me how to market with infomercials and live shopping, [and] I learned a lot,” George Jr. said in an interview with the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) in 2018.

But after working in consumer products for years, George Jr. made the move into boxing promotion — which he called a “natural fit” on the Sway in the Morning show.

In 2013, George Jr. and his brothers, George “Monk” Foreman III and George “Big Wheel” Foreman IV, and their dad joined forces to launch Foreman Boys Promotions, a boxing promotion company that partnered with Arum’s Top Rank company to put together and promote fights.

“It’s a wonderful thing to work with your family,” Foreman told Bleacher Report of Foreman Boys Productions, adding that the experience outside of the ring is a “team sport” that he and his sons had to learn to adapt to. Foreman said that his sons took the lead in the venture. “They’re doing all the groundwork, and I just come in and get all the glory. All I have to do is show up and be old George Foreman, the ex-boxer.”

Foreman welcomed his second daughter Georgetta Foreman in the late 1970s.

Similar to many of her siblings, Georgetta has been heavily involved in her father’s business endeavors throughout her life.

On the Jason Hennessey Podcast in 2022, Georgetta said that she didn’t know her father was famous growing up. “Dad was just a dad,” she said, until she was around 9 years old and her father decided he wanted to come out of retirement and his children helped him train.

“We’re helping him because boxing, as my dad says, it’s a lonely sport,” she said. “We’re in the gym. We’re helping him count the rounds. My sister Natalie is helping him run on the track. We [became] part of his training camp in some way.”

At 15, she became Foreman’s assistant and began traveling with him to boxing matches. She eventually became his head of media relations, according to her TedX Talks speaker bio from a talk she gave about her father in 2020. At the same time she was working on her father’s career, Georgetta simultaneously pursued her own path in broadcast journalism and producing.

She’s worked as a television producer at HBO Sports, the television shows Divorce Court and Let’s Make a Deal, as a marketing consultant and producer, and most recently a two-time Emmy-nominated supervising producer at Entertainment Studios, per her LinkedIn.

Georgetta has two daughters of her own, Jessica and Kendal (nicknamed “The Jewel”), whom she often posts about on social media.

“Sitting with her as she watched her grandfather’s story being portrayed on the big screen was one for the books,” Georgetta captioned an Instagram post of Kendal underneath the movie poster for Big George Foreman, the 2023 biopic about Foreman.

Foreman’s third daughter was Freeda Foreman.

Of all of Foreman’s daughters, Freeda has emulated her father’s career most closely.

“All of my fathers’ children have followed in his footsteps one way or another,” Freeda told Bokser in 2007. “However, I identified more with boxing than anything else at that time in my life.”

Growing up, Freeda expressed her interest in pursuing boxing to her father, but Foreman insisted she get a college degree first, according to an X post from Foreman in 2019, per CNN. After earning her degree, Freeda entered the boxing world, but she told the London Mirror in 2000 that, even then, her father didn’t approve of her boxing. “He said, ‘Take a lot of time and think about it very carefully,’ ” she told the outlet. “My daddy doesn’t approve, but this is what I want. It’s something I’ve got to do.”

Her professional boxing career lasted from 2000 to 2001, finishing 5-1 with three knockouts, according to Bleacher Report. After Freeda retired from boxing to raise her family, she became a promoter and served as the executive director of the George Foreman Youth & Community Center in Houston.

In 2019, Freeda died by suicide at her home in Texas. She was 42 years old.

George Foreman III, nicknamed “Monk,” also followed closely in Foreman’s footsteps — in both his name and career.

On the Tosh Show in 2024, George III explained the origins of his nickname, saying that his father was often called “Monkey” by his siblings growing up. “As a youngster they teased him a lot, they called him a lot of names — Monkey was a term that they used,” he said of the often derogatory phrase. “At first it was hurtful, but it became his name, so much that in the streets he was known as Monkey.”

As a teenager, George III worked at his father’s George Foreman Youth & Community Center, where he trained disadvantaged kids in boxing, then became his father’s business manager for seven years, according to his keynote speaker bio on Big Speak.

After graduating from college with a degree in kinesiology from Rice University in 2006, per his LinkedIn, George III began his own professional boxing career — coached by his dad — in 2009.

He told Coveteur in 2018 that his pursuit of boxing originally began as a way to silence his brothers, who joked that he wasn’t athletic. He started training by himself, but his dad soon jumped in to help. “It was never about having a career, it was about having one fight,” George III told the outlet. “But my dad and I enjoyed what we were doing so much. It was a way for him to stay involved in boxing, which is his passion, and it was a good father-son experience.”

He competed for just over three years, according to his speaker bio for the Crisp Game Changers Summit in 2019, and ended his career with a perfect 16-0 record with 15 knockout victories.

After leaving professional boxing, George III realized his passion was for training and coaching, per his Crisp speaker bio, and switched gears to entrepreneurship — founding his own gym, EverybodyFights with a friend in Boston in 2013. The company expanded nationally starting in 2018, growing to nearly two dozen locations.

George III left EverybodyFights in 2020 and started a new venture, Craft Boxing Club, in Los Angeles in 2021, offering both in-person and online boxing training, and Craft Boxing Academy for aspiring coaches to earn training certifications.

Foreman’s fourth daughter is Leola Foreman.

Leola works both in and out of the family business as a stand-up comedian, YouTuber and vice president of Foreman Media.

Foreman’s daughter Natalie Foreman took a different path than the rest of her family in her career as an educator.

In 2023, she earned her doctorate of education at the University of St. Thomas in Houston. At Natalie’s graduation ceremony, Foreman posted a video on X of his daughter walking up to the stage to accept her degree. “Doctor Natalie Foreman-Wynn. Now I’m [a] 4 time World Champ. The real reason we fight,” he wrote alongside the video.

Natalie is married to former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Milton Wynn, and they have one child together — a third-generation George. In 2019, Foreman posted a photo on Instagram of himself, Natalie, Milton and their son George with the caption “3 Generations.”

Foreman’s eighth child is George “Big Wheel” Foreman IV.

After receiving a degree in public relations and advertising from Texas Southern University, George IV has worked for his father’s business ventures in the public relations, marketing, licensing, and communications sectors, per his LinkedIn and Sports Illustrated.

In an interview with Feed Your Best Life in 2020, George IV talked about the importance of upholding the Foreman legacy for his father.

“That’s the joy of growing older, and seeing my siblings and what they have been a part of. Each individual carries that brand whether by choice or not,” he said. “We each have a duty, as Foremans, to promote what we were given — which is our story. I try to make sure I surround myself with my family so I can continue to feed off their energy and promote that story as well.”

George IV is also a farmer, per his Instagram. He founded the Foreman Agricultural Service company, a real estate trust that encourages investment in and franchising of American agriculture and farmland, per the company’s website.

George Foreman V, nicknamed “Red,” is similar to his siblings in many ways.

He keeps his personal and work life private, but like his brother George IV’s love of farming, he works at his father’s ranch — complete with horses and cows — in Marshall, Texas.

George V shares two children, RJ and Makenzie, with his wife, Ashly.

While George V makes music as a gospel singer and songwriter, per his Instagram, he’s also involved in the boxing world, training amateur and professional boxers at the George Foreman Youth & Community Center, per a post from the ISET Hour radio show, and often posts videos sparring with his brother, George IV on his Instagram.

George “Little Joey” Foreman VI is the youngest of the Foreman children.

He keeps his life largely out of the public eye, though his father has posted photos with him while on vacation and supporting their favorite sports teams.

His brother George III also posted a photo carousel on Instagram for National Siblings Day 2017 that featured photos of a young George VI. “Nothing makes you stronger than having siblings to fight for and who will fight for you,” George III wrote in the caption. “Very thankful for mine.”
