Green Card Priority Date 2025 for Family & Employment Based!

The USCIS, in collaboration with the Department of State, is currently revising the process of determining visa availability for individuals who are waiting to file for employment-based or family-sponsored preference adjustment of status. The U.S. Department of State recently declared its Visa Bulletin for March 2025

This bulletin disclosed the availability of immigrant numbers during March 2025 for “Final Action Dates” as well as “Dates for Filing Applications,” indicating when immigrant visa candidates should be notified to gather and submit all the required documentation to the National Visa Center.

The United States Department of State issued its Visa Bulletin for March 2025. This monthly update is very crucial if you’re anxiously waiting for a green card. It is because the monthly update helps you to know how long you might have to wait.

Every month, USCIS confirms whether individuals who are living in the United States need to file their “adjustment of status” applications depending on the Final Action Dates and the “Dates for Filing.” In March 2025, family-based claimants need to utilize the “Priority Date” whereas employment-based candidates must utilize the “Final Action Dates”.

If applicants priority date is before the cut-off date then they can take the next step in the Green Card application process. However, If an individual’s priority date is the same as the cut-off date then they cannot perform another step of the application process. 

In March 2025, there are some changes confirmed in all employment-based categories, except in the EB-1 group. The biggest announced changes are in the EB-4 category, with one year and one month retrogression for all the countries. However, There are no changes announced in waiting times for family-based categories.
