FRAMINGHAM — A local seniors group is bringing the April 5 “Hands Off!” rally in Boston to downtown Framingham.

Local organizers of the Framingham Seniors Rally for Democracy recently announced that their gathering, scheduled for noon on Saturday, April 5, on the sidewalk in front of the Memorial Building, is for people who are unable to travel to the Boston rally at the same time.

The Hands Off! event is part of a national protest, with more than 1,000 gatherings planned throughout the country, according to the announcement. Participants will march, rally and protest to oppose what they describe as “the destruction of government and economy for the benefit of billionaires.”

The event emphasizes nonviolent action, encouraging attendees to deescalate any potential confrontations with those with whom they disagree.
