Lois Boisson had the perfect response after her opponent served up some massive shade during their tennis match.

On Tuesday, April 15, just hours after taking on British tennis player Harriet Dart, 28, at the Rouen Open, the 21-year-old French athlete responded to negative in-game comments about her hygiene, without saying a word.

Tagging personal care brand Dove, Boisson posted an Instagram Story photo of herself getting ready to serve on the court.

Photoshopped onto the image was a single stick of the brand’s deodorant atop the tennis ball.

“Apparently need a collab,” she wrote on the photo, adding a pair of laughing emojis and prayer hands.

The cheeky clapback came after Dart was caught on camera making a rather crude comment about Boisson during their match.

“Can you tell her to wear deodorant? Because she smells really bad,” Dart was heard telling the umpire.

The comment was shared by multiple sports news sites, as well as on social media, including the TheGayTennisPod Instagram account.

Users seemed to rally around Boisson, calling out Dart’s unsportsmanlike conduct.

“She was losing, huh???” one person said of Dart, who is ranked fourth among British tennis players and 110 overall by the Women’s Tennis Association.

Another added, “Maybe choose a no-contact sport, preferably one where you have separate designated areas for you and your opponent, being ten to twenty metres away from each other! …oh wait.”

Dart, who has since disabled comments on her Instagram profile, issued a public apology on her Instagram Stories.

“Hey everyone, I want to apologise for what I said on the court today, it was a heat-of-the-moment comment that I truly regret,” the British tennis player wrote.

“That’s not how I want to carry myself, and I take full responsibility. I have a lot of respect for Lois and how she competed today. I’ll learn from this and move forward,” Dart concluded.

According to the New York TimesThe Athletic, on Tuesday, Boisson was making her first Women’s Tennis Association Tour performance of the season after previously struggling with injuries, and had been working her way back up from placing at No. 303 in the rankings.

Boisson defeated Dart 6-0 and 6-3.
