The Golden State Warriors continue their road trip as they travel to Texas on Sunday night to take on the San Antonio Spurs. The game will be played at 4:00PM PT in San Antonio and can be watched on NBC Sports Bay Area.
Golden State bounced back from their two-game losing streak with a big win against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night, 111-95. It wasn’t the smoothest start to the game, as the Warriors fell into an early 14-2 deficit, but they quickly regrouped and took control with a strong second half.

Stephen Curry returned from a two-game absence due to a pelvic contusion, leading the way with 23 points. The Warriors had six players in double figures, capitalizing on an undermanned Pelicans squad to keep pace in the race for the Western Conference’s sixth seed.
With Curry back in the lineup, the only key injury concern is Gary Payton II, who remains sidelined with a left thumb injury.
San Antonio, on the other hand, has been decimated by injuries all season and will be without its two biggest stars—Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox—both ruled out for the remainder of the year.

Wembanyama’s absence has tanked the Spurs’ defense. Before his injury, San Antonio ranked 19th in defensive rating and led the NBA with 6.5 blocks per game. Without him, they’ve plummeted to 29th in defensive rating, while their block numbers have dropped to 3.9 per game (25th in the league).
To put into perspective just how much Wembanyama meant to the Spurs’ defense, he still leads the league in total blocks (176) —well ahead of second place in Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler (136)— despite missing 27 games this season.
With Wembanyama out, the Warriors should have a much easier time attacking the paint. Expect Curry to find his rhythm early, while Jonathan Kuminga should have plenty of opportunities to be aggressive inside as he continues adjusting to Golden State’s evolving dynamic with Jimmy Butler in the mix.
